Or even a place of tranquility even when there are several teens sleeping over at your house (those of you with teens know what we mean). Our goal is to help you find yourself wherever it is that you choose to go.
Meet Cathleen & Jeff
Founder, Cathleen Moore, has always loved burning candles for the warm glow they provide but even more so the way they can make you feel different things with different aromas— relaxed, reminiscent, and nostalgic. As a wife and mom, Cathleen enjoys the simple luxury of a quality candle but was often disappointed by even “pricey” ones she purchased in retail stores. She began making her own candles as a hobby years ago but during the Christmas season of 2019, she had the idea to make a big batch—120 candles in 8oz tins. She gave some as gifts and shared that the rest were available for purchase. Friends, family, and coworkers helped her sell out in record time. THAT is when she knew she had a business opportunity. During the next 18 months, Wick’d Up was born and began to flourish. As a native of Williamson County, Cathleen loves shopping local and now providing a locally made product.
Wick’d Up candles are still being hand poured in small batches by Cathleen and her devoted husband, Jeff. Both partners really enjoy the science behind candle making—the variables for producing very different candles from ratio of scent and size of the wick to the humidity and temperature in the environment and even things like using a scent that has citrus versus a scent that has vanilla…and so much more.
